Ripe Reviews Launches

BOSTON – For avid reviewers with many opinions to share, Ripe Reviews is excited to announce the launch of their new website, ripereviews.com.  Ripe Reviews provides a proprietary platform for reviewing products, services, restaurants, music, and just about everything under the sun. Similar to wiki-style sites but with a greater emphasis on structure and community, Ripe Reviews makes it easy for users to add item pages for things that interest them (Pizza Hut, a local restaurant, a Smashing Pumpkins album, etc.). The user responsible for creating an item page gets permanent credit on the page itself. Once an item page exists, the real fun begins, as users are able to review the item.

The Ripe Reviews community rates items using a traditional 5 star scale. In addition to rating the item, users can create descriptive text reviews, add pros and cons, best prices, and ask questions. Unlike most sites that feature reviews, products are not actually bought or sold on Ripe Reviews, making the reviews the star of the show.

Ripe Reviews contains many unique features such as item battles.  Item battles (or showdowns) pit two items in a head-to-head faceoff against each other. Users have shown that they can be quite clever when creating these battles. For example, one user created a showdown between bacon and Cheetos. Of course, more traditional matchups exist as well; other current battles pit McDonald’s against Burger King and Wal-Mart against Target.

Ripe Reviews is free to join and easy to use.  It provides an excellent environment to voice opinions about just anything that can be summarized with a picture and a description. For those with something to sell, it’s a great new place to tap into feedback from real people.  For those that write reviews, Ripe Reviews has been described by users as “fun and addictive.”
