eBay Classifieds Boosts Mobile and Tablet Yield with adMarketplace Search Partner Network

The local e-commerce giant sees 49.8 percent increase in eCPM by replacing Google with adMarketplace

NEW YORK – eBay Classifieds partnered with adMarketplace, the largest search intent advertising network outside of Google, to provide an improved search experience for site visitors on both mobile and tablet devices. Specifically, eBay Classifieds wanted a way to increase click-through-rate (CTR) – a key indicator for ad relevance, and adMarketplace delivered.

Over the past six months, adMarketplace has delivered monthly CTR growth of 10 percent for the site, which performs particularly well for advertisers in the pet, retail, automotive and real estate verticals. These CTR gains have resulted in a 49.8 percent increase in eBay Classifieds’ yield as measured by effective CPM.

As a result of this performance, adMarketplace has replaced Google as eBay Classifieds’ primary search monetization partner and is now responsible for 98 percent of eBay Classifieds’ mobile and tablet search revenue.

Vince Meyer, adMarketplace vice president of business development, said, “eBay Classifieds is a go-to site for users seeking a wide range of items. It offers impressive search flexibility for users on mobile and tablet, and serves as a great resource for locally-targeted results. We’re thrilled to be able to help the site deliver relevant, intent-driven results to users, as we continue to provide strong local performance to our advertisers.”
