NEW YORK – Drawing from its deep well of talent, Scripps Networks has named Greg Regis as Senior Vice President of Advertising Sales for Travel Channel, where he will oversee ad sales strategy and revenue for the network. Scripps Networks acquired a majority interest in Travel Channel in December 2009.
“Greg is a visionary when it comes to successful ways to position brands in the advertising marketplace,” says Jon Steinlauf, Senior Vice President of Ad Sales for Scripps Networks, to whom Regis will report. “He thinks strategically and has demonstrated a great ability to lead and manage people.”
Regis, who remains based in New York, will immediately embark on building the team that will handle advertising sales and ad sales marketing for Travel Channel, and develop strategies to expand the network’s advertiser base.
“With Travel Channel, we have the opportunity to extend the definition of what travel means to an advertiser and make the brand relatable to a wide variety of advertiser categories,” says Regis.
Regis most recently served as Vice President of Ad Sales for Food Network, Eastern Region, and was responsible for negotiating and executing contracts accounting for more than 60 percent of the network’s annual ad sales revenue.
Before joining Scripps Networks, Regis worked as Vice President of Programming for Wink Communications, a pioneer interactive television company. Previously, he served as Senior Vice President of National Advertising Sales and Sponsorships for NBC Interactive and as Vice President of National Advertising Sales for the ESPN and ABC internet groups.
Regis is a graduate of St. John’s University with a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication.
