Local Corporation’s Expanded Display Network Reaches Record One Billion Monthly Impressions

IRVINE, Calif. – Local Corporation (NASDAQ: LOCM), a leading online local media company, today announced that its display network served a record one billion ad impressions during December 2011, up 300 percent over January 2011.

The record impressions were served across the flagship Local.com site, the company’s syndication network of more than 1,000 regional media sites and the company’s recently launched display ad network, which powers display advertising for third-party web publishers. The company’s display ads generate CPM revenues when banner ads are served through the system.

In November 2011, the company launched RAMP by Rovion, the first automated, cloud-based solution for the creation and publishing of rich media ads for online and mobile environments incorporating local product data by Krillion. RAMP is now part of the company’s display ad network and offers publishers, agencies and the brands they represent the ability to create, deliver and track customized rich media ad campaigns across multiple environments with a single ad tag.

“Consumer reach continues to be a key performance indicator for our business. We are expanding our display business to provide us with increased reach to online consumers,” said Michael Sawtell, president and COO, Local Corporation. “This allows us to provide further value to our direct subscription advertisers as well as our ad partners. Display represents approximately 10 percent of our overall revenue and is one of the fastest growing areas of our business.”

According to BIA/Kelsey, local online display advertising is expected to grow from $2.1 billion in 2010, accounting for 20 percent of the total display ad inventory to $4.9 billion by 2015, accounting for 30 percent of total display ad inventory.
