Emeryville, CA – Exponential Interactive, the global digital advertising company, today announced the appointment of four experienced executives to new positions in its top management.
Tim Brown, formerly general manager of Tribal Fusion Europe, has been appointed as chief product officer; Philip Buxton, a former journalist and marketing consultant, becomes chief marketing officer; Carolyn Cramer becomes managing director, Canada; and Ken Nelson joins as vice president of business development for Exponential’s new Audience Services division.

Mr. Brown has more than thirteen years of experience in the digital advertising industry. Previously he was general manager of Tribal Fusion Europe and prior to that he was vice president of ad products and platforms, Europe, for Yahoo! He was also the European managing director for BlueLithium and 24/7 Real Media.
Mr. Buxton is an expert in designing and executing go-to-market strategies for digital advertising businesses. A former trade marketing journalist, he became the first reporter at UK magazine Marketing Week to cover ‘new media’ in 1998 before going on to edit Revolution, a monthly magazine for digital marketers. Mr. Buxton most recently acted as global VP of marketing at Tribal Fusion and has been a strategic marketing consultant for digital marketing agency iCrossing and universal tag management system TagMan.
Ms. Cramer is responsible for national sales, new business development, and strategy for launching and growing all brands under Exponential in the Canadian marketplace. Ms Cramer has lived and worked in the Toronto market for over 20 years. Prior to joining Tribal Fusion, she was the National Sales Manager for Yahoo! Canada’s search division.
As the vice president of business development for Exponential Audience Services, Mr. Nelson will work with senior agency executives and agency trading desks to leverage the e-X Advertising Intelligence platform to deliver audience insights and modelling that can be used across media and Exponential’s own audience engagement divisions Tribal Fusion, AdoTube, Firefly Video and Appsnack.
Prior to Exponential, Mr. Nelson was on the founding team of Brilig, the co-operative data marketplace for digital display advertising targeting, where he was responsible for data acquisition, account management and sales to leading ad networks, DSPs, SSPs and trading desks. He also served as a management consultant for General Electric and managed strategic investments and business development for Meridian Health.
