One of Country’s Largest Independent Advertising Agencies Bolsters Senior Leadership with Fourth High-Level Executive Hire From Premier Agencies This Year
AUSTIN, Texas – T3, one of the largest independent advertising agencies in the United States, today announced the appointment of former Mediabrands Audience Platform (MAP) vice president Greg Pomaro to senior vice president, executive media director at the company’s San Francisco office.
Pomaro’s hiring marks the capstone to T3’s yearlong talent acquisition of senior executives from premier agencies. T3 has seen tremendous momentum in 2012, attracting Jim Firestone (chief strategy officer) from GSD&M and Rick Doerr (senior vice president, managing director New York) and Joe Volpicelli (senior vice president, executive creative director) from BBDO.

As T3’s new senior vice president, executive media director, Pomaro will lead strategic audience-centric programs at the rapidly evolving media practice. He brings more than 20 years of deep experience leading teams in traditional and digital media across every conceivable audience segment. Pomaro was most recently senior vice president, client services at Mediabrands Audience Platform in San Francisco. Prior to MAP, he was the Universal McCann Client Business Partner leading the Microsoft North America team and oversaw the Windows Phone 7 global launch. Pomaro also led media and online investment at Razorfish Seattle.

Overseeing work across T3’s Austin, New York and San Francisco offices as chief strategy officer, Jim Firestone was previously vice president, experience and insights at GSD&M, where he led planning efforts across a wide range of brands and also led the agency’s insights practice. Previously, Firestone held planning director roles at Dentsu’s Oasis, Deutsch and Euro/RSCG.
As senior vice president, managing director of T3’s New York office, Rick Doerr is part of the executive management team with an emphasis on the agency’s clients and business opportunities on the East Coast. He previously served as managing director for BBDO’s South China operation as well as regional business director for Asia. With over 19 years of experience in marketing and advertising, Doerr’s award-winning work has taken him all over the world, including New York, London, Hong Kong and Guangzhou, China.
Serving as senior vice president, executive creative director, Joe Volpicelli teams with Doerr to manage T3’s New York office. At BBDO New York, Volpicelli spent 13 years as vice president creative director, leading campaigns for Lowe’s and Arby’s. Volpicelli’s work has been recognized with industry awards, including Andy, Addy, Clio, Effie, London International and NY Festivals, and featured in Adweek, Creativity Online and Communication Arts.
