With the addition of these six patents—four awarded by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and two by the European Patent Office—Audible Magic now holds 24 U.S. and European patents in all.

“Innovation is at the heart of what we do,” said Jim Schrempp, Audible Magic’s Co-Founder and VP of Core Technology. “We have a record of receiving patent awards that dates back to 1999 as well as a sincere belief that strong IP protection provides a valuable insurance policy for our customers. Our customers know that they won’t be forced to change their application, possibly even removing key features, in order to avoid violating some patent. In every important respect, patent protection is key to a well thought out go to market strategy.”

Audible Magic also has several more patent applications in the works with both the U.S. and European patent offices. These will be announced when patent awards are made.
