PubMatic Launches Self-Service Open SDK

Extends Its Premium Mobile Publisher Offering to All App Providers

New York, NY —  PubMatic, the digital media platform for publishers, announced that it will open its mobile software development kit (SDK) for premium publishers to all app providers, establishing a new self-service solution for mobile monetization driven by the desire to work with app providers at the earliest possible stage of their monetization needs. This move provides mobile application developers of all sizes with the ability to leverage the advantages of PubMatic’s premium mobile solutions, previously available only to enterprise clients with more than 30 million impressions per month.

Registration for the SDK download begins today, and this self-service version of PubMatic’s premium platform is paired with a support wiki and user forum where publishers can go to help one another. Opening up its mobile SDK enables any app developer to download PubMatic’s SDK in order to leverage the benefits of its dynamic, programmatic auction. This includes over 150 demand sources as well as embedded SDKs from Millennial and Google’s AdMob SDK.

“By opening up our SDK to all mobile developers we are demonstrating once again our determined focus on helping publishers make the most of their digital assets,” said Bob Walczak, General Manager, Mobile and Video, at PubMatic. “By expanding upon our premium publisher desktop model we are enabling all players in the marketplace to plug into best in class monetization tools earlier and earlier in their business development cycles.”

As part of the open SDK approach, publishers that exceed 30 million monthly impressions will be upgraded automatically to premium publisher status, giving them access to all of the services that PubMatic offers its enterprise-level users. This includes industry-leading RTB, data enrichment, cross platform support, and brand protection strategies.

PubMatic’s mobile SDK is MRAID rich media-compliant and supports all ad sizes. PubMatic’s proprietary device library catalogues more than 10,000 devices to ensure ads are optimized for device size, version, OS, and location, among many other features. PubMatic integrates with major mobile ad servers globally and the leading networks and DSPs to help publishers monetize inventory and maximize revenue.

“We are constantly looking around the corner for new ways to support publishers seeking to meet their monetization needs,” said Kirk McDonald, President of PubMatic. “What makes this move so innovative is that we are working to fulfill the promise of one platform solution by offering a self-service version of PubMatic’s premium platform to the next generation of publishers.”

PubMatic’s decision to open its mobile SDK comes during a period of rapid product and services innovation at the company, including September’s release of PubConnect, a new technology that gives publishers the ability to join together and establish controlled groups, leverage access to new inventory, expand audience reach, and open up entirely new revenue streams, along with the company’s new platform strategy division, announced in October.

The first company to bring to market 3rd party network optimization, Real-Time Bidding and insights and optimization across sales channels for publishers, PubMatic now continues its tradition of innovation by being the first company to offer best in class monetization strategies on mobile to companies of all sizes.
