Xaxis Launches in Indonesia and the Philippines, Bringing Data-Driven Audience Buying to Region’s Advertisers

JAKARTA, Indonesia & MANILA, Philippines & SINGAPORE – Xaxis, the world’s largest programmatic media and technology platform, announced the launch of operations in Indonesia and the Philippines. The debut augments the company’s market leading position in the APAC region, which includes existing offices in China, Singapore, Australia, Thailand, Taiwan, Hong Kong, India, Malaysia and Vietnam. Xaxis has appointed Arshad Rahman to lead efforts in these key Southeast Asian markets as director, Indonesia and Philippines.

“Xaxis will be a unique selling point for GroupM. We will be the first agency in Indonesia to have this capability. We anticipate Xaxis to be an incredibly valuable media partner for our existing clients and to assist in driving new business.”

“We are the first large-scale audience buying platform in both markets, with more reach and more touch points than any other solution in the industry,” said Michel de Rijk, managing director of Xaxis Asia Pacific. “The digital landscape in APAC is evolving as digital penetration rapidly increases and audiences begin to shift to digital platforms. Xaxis will provide a competitive advantage to our clients in both markets. Arshad’s familiarity with Southeast Asia’s digital landscape and understanding of advertisers’ strategies will help them turn the unique audience buying expertise of Xaxis into campaign success.”

Formerly regional director for Innity in Southeast Asia, Rahman will be responsible for leading strategy and operations in both markets for Xaxis, including account management, trading, publisher relations and partnerships.

“Indonesia in particular is seeing continued growth in mobile advertising and both markets are gradually catching up with the rest of the region in terms of online video advertising,” said Rahman. “Advertisers have seen the strong and consistent results we achieve in our existing APAC markets and there’s a great deal of demand in both Indonesia and the Philippines for a fully capable audience buying solution. It’s a remarkable time to join the company.”

The Xaxis offices in Jakarta and Manila will work directly with the GroupM agencies in both markets to provide global and local advertisers with the ability to programmatically connect with the right audiences at the right time across the digital sphere. Today’s Xaxis news follows the company’s announcement last week that it is merging with 24/7 Media, creating the world’s largest programmatic media and technology platform. The combined company will continue to be known as Xaxis.

Commenting on the launch, GroupM CEO Indonesia, Ed Thesiger said, “Xaxis will be a unique selling point for GroupM. We will be the first agency in Indonesia to have this capability. We anticipate Xaxis to be an incredibly valuable media partner for our existing clients and to assist in driving new business.”

“Several of our regional and global clients are already enquiring about Xaxis based on their experience in working with the company in other APAC markets,” said Puneet Arora, GroupM CEO Philippines, who also described the launch as a competitive advantage. “We see Xaxis playing a very important role in our client’s communication plans from here on.”
