AppSponsor Introduces Playable Ads, Boosts Revenue Up to 50% or More

Delivering higher eCPM’s than rich media and video, new SDK from AppSponsor enables app developers to deliver in-app game advertisements users can demo

SAN FRANCISCO – AppSponsor.com, a mobile native-focused supply-side platform by Manage.com, announced the launch of the first software development kit (SDK) program featuring true playable ads. Working in direct collaboration with some of the world’s largest casual, casino and brand advertisers, the SDK will improve user experience for gamers and increase conversions. Instead of being force-fed an ad, users will be able to demo real 30-45 second in-app gaming experiences. Playable and rewarded playable ad experiences result in less complaints and happier users, boosting eCPM’s (effective cost per thousand ads served) by up to 50 percent or more compared to existing formats.

“We are excited to offer this new capability to app developers and brand advertisers. The beauty of this ad unit is that it is applicable to any kind of retail or consumer app such as shopping, travel and even news readers.”

AppSponsor’s SDK provides native playable ad units from within a mobile developer’s app. Once integrated, a 30-45 second demo version of any app is displayed, whether it is a game, shopping, news or even a utility app such as chat. At the conclusion of the demo, the user is directed to Google Play or the App Store, where they can install the app. Users can return to the game or app that spawned the playable ad while their new app installs, ensuring optimal user experience. The ads are preselected based on relevance to the user, which is driven by a data management platform from AppSponsor’s parent company, Manage.com.

“The ‘try-before-you-buy’ model works in just about every offline retail setting, and we believe it’s a primetime model for mobile,” said Fred Hsu, CEO of AppSponsor.com. “We are excited to offer this new capability to app developers and brand advertisers. The beauty of this ad unit is that it is applicable to any kind of retail or consumer app such as shopping, travel and even news readers.”

Playable and rewarded playable ads are available with AppSponsor’s latest native iOS 2.2.2 and Android 2.3.6 SDKs; with additional playable ad support for Unity 3D, Adobe Air, and Corona platforms available next month.
