Digital Marketing and Technology Leader Warren Billington Joins BrightTag as Managing Director, Australia, New Zealand and Southeast Asia

CHICAGO, IL and SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA – BrightTag, the global leader in real-time cloud-based marketing technologies, announced that cross-channel and digital marketing expert Warren Billington has joined the company as Managing Director Australia, New Zealand and Southeast Asia. He will lead BrightTag’s strategy, sales and business development efforts in Australia, New Zealand and Southeast Asia.

Based in Sydney, Billington has extensive professional experience in digital marketing, brand marketing and mobile technology, and has been on the forefront in addressing the gap between today’s multi-screening consumers and the brands they do business with.

“The enormous and fast-growing Asia-Pacific region holds boundless potential and significant challenges for marketers as consumers here interact with brands in increasingly diverse and specific ways,” Billington said. “Use of smartphones, tablets and laptops in the APAC region has surged ahead of the global average. Consumers are constantly switching between these devices, with smartphones as the screen of choice, while marketers struggle to keep up with them.”

“I’m thrilled to join BrightTag because its team shares my passion for bridging this divide between consumers and brands. I’m particularly impressed by BrightTag’s global vision for helping marketers create more impactful and engaging interactions with customers in real time across multiple devices and channels in a consistent and effective way.”

Billington joined BrightTag from Acxiom, where he led the company’s global data, analytics and software-as-a-service business in Australia and New Zealand. Previously, he was co-founder and chief executive officer of 5th Finger, one of Australia’s leading mobile marketing companies, which he successfully launched in the U.S. before Merkle acquired it.

He started his career as a brand marketer at Kellogg’s UK before working at several data-driven marketing businesses, including Claritas, Experian and Red Sheriff.

“Warren’s appointment is a key component to the rollout of our Asia-Pacific strategy. He’ll be rapidly expanding his team to support the growth of current and future clients in the region,” said Marc Kiven, Founder and Chief Revenue Officer, BrightTag.

“With his deep industry experience and expertise in digital and brand marketing, Warren is adept at working closely with both clients and industry partners. He will be a valuable leader for BrightTag as he helps us drive our global growth,” Kiven said.
