LONDON & MOSCOW – Xaxis, the world’s largest programmatic media and technology platform, announced the launch of operations in Russia. The move brings the company’s total office count to 33 locations and provides global advertisers and publishers with unparalleled capability in implementing data-driven digital marketing initiatives across display, mobile, online video and social channels. Xaxis has tapped Nikolay Bulanov to lead the new office as managing director, Russia.
“Nikolay brings an excellent understanding of the intricacies of the Russian media market to Xaxis and his experience working with both advertisers and publishers makes him an ideal choice for the managing director role.”
With today’s launch, Xaxis introduces the market’s first fully featured programmatic platform, providing a unique combination of first class data management and audience buying solutions based on best global and local practices. Advertisers will be able to run coordinated programs across multiple digital channels more effectively than ever before as well as track and measure their results with industry-leading precision. Media companies will gain access to the company’s powerful, revenue optimization tools that enhance publisher results while boosting consumer experience.
“Russia is a key market for many of our global clients with a large, tech-savvy population of around 70 million, connected consumers,” said Caspar Schlickum, CEO EMEA for Xaxis. “Nikolay brings an excellent understanding of the intricacies of the Russian media market to Xaxis and his experience working with both advertisers and publishers makes him an ideal choice for the managing director role.”
Bulanov joins Xaxis from Media Set, a Moscow-based media buying firm, where he served as director of business development. In this role he managed new business and strategic partnerships while also participating in the development of new social media and data driven ad products. Previously, Bulanov was the online advertising sales director for Internet publishing group Afisha and Rambler, part of Russian holding company ProfMedia. He holds an M.A. in philology from Lomonosov Moscow State University.
“Programmatic is still very much a nascent slice of the overall Russian digital media market compared to more established regions such as the U.S. and U.K., but is growing rapidly,” said Bulanov. “Xaxis has built unique capabilities and products for driving performance and value for brands programmatically and the timing is right to launch the business in one of the fastest growing digital markets worldwide”
Xaxis Russia is part of GroupM Russia – the world’s leading media investment management company. Neil Hardwick, GroupM Russia CEO, said “Globally, Xaxis has been a clear demonstration of the innovation and value that we are able to bring to our clients.
