With Latin America expansion, coverage reaches 19 countries in the region
SANTIAGO, Chile – Nielsen N.V. (NYSE:NLSN) announced it will expand its coverage area to include two new countries – Bolivia and Paraguay. This brings the total number of Latin American countries covered by Nielsen to 19 and the total number of countries around the world to 106.
“This expansion adds nearly 17 million Latin American consumers to our regional and global support and analysis for clients”
“This expansion adds nearly 17 million Latin American consumers to our regional and global support and analysis for clients,” commented John Lewis, President, Americas. “This new coverage area strengthens our presence in the region and our ability to offer our clients an increasingly comprehensive view of what drives the Latin American market and its consumers.”
Understanding the unique characteristics and opportunities for consumer measurement in both countries required the company to complete an extensive research and audit process. Initially, Nielsen will enter these markets with retail measurement of non-alcoholic beverages and plans to expand into new industries and solutions in 2015.
