TOKYO – Xaxis, the world’s largest programmatic media and technology company, announced today it has named Sawato (Stephan) Yoshii as country manager for Japan. Yoshii will lead the firm’s operations in the large and fast growing Japanese digital ad market with responsibility for business development, partnerships and publisher relations. He will play a key role in expanding the programmatic availability of digital inventory across Japan’s premium publishers, working with media companies and technology partners to continue to enhance the Xaxis offering.

An accomplished executive in the Japanese digital media space, Yoshii joins Xaxis from Dentsu affiliated e-marketing firm, Opt, Inc. where he led client services and business development efforts for the agency’s programmatic operations. In this role he was responsible for driving advertiser interest in Japan’s nascent programmatic market and forming strategic deals with ad tech companies including Criteo and BrightTag (now Signal) and publishers such as Yahoo! Japan. Earlier, Yoshii served in marketing and business development roles at BBFM and Celsys.
