Festival of Media Global 2015 Announces Tech Start-Up Programme Emerge

The world’s most innovative tech start-ups invited to inspire and educate the world’s leading brands

Rome – The Festival of Media Global, the largest annual gathering of senior global figures in media, announced the launch of the 2015 emerge programme. An initiative dedicated to educating and inspiring the industry on the opportunities that cutting edge technology offers, emerge will showcase the companies of the future, from around the world.

emerge is a unique project designed to match innovative new technology companies and entrepreneurs, with senior decision-makers in global marketing and media.  A council of experienced investors and seasoned marketers in 14 international cities has selected 25 of the world’s most promising start-ups to participate in the project.

The start-up technology businesses taking part have been drawn from a wide array of disciplines, including programmatic buying; social video; data interrogation and understanding; content and publishing technology, and mobile commerce.  These include Spanish product analytics provider Plytix; UK personal data marketplace Powr of You; Israeli text-to-video technology service Wibbitz; German Twitter search and analytics company tame.it, and UK universal global address system what3words.

Each start-up will be showcased within the festival’s emergeZone – a pitching and exhibiting area within the networking space.  They will also be invited to deliver a two-minute pitch on their business to an audience of the world’s leading brands, and given the unique opportunity to network with senior global delegates at tailored events throughout the festival.

With a collective buying power in excess of $250bn, the 1,000 delegates to the festival include global agency CEOs and brand CMOs from high profile names such as Apple, Coca-Cola, Expedia, Honda, Ikea, Aston Martin, P&G, RedBull and Johnson & Johnson.

This is the second year that the emerge programme has featured within Festival of Media Global.  Successful emerge participants in 2014 included much-hyped mobile augmented reality platform Blippar, content marketing pioneer NewsCredwhich recently signed a major partnership with Havas Media Group – and rapidly-growing social engagement specialist EngageSciences.

Charlie Crowe, Founder, Festival of Media Global, comments: “emerge has really taken off and offers a truly global offering of budding media startups and entrepreneurs to showcase their innovative businesses. It gives advertisers a deeper, and more engaging, experience to further understand and uncover ways in which media is evolving and driving their business, with the likes of Coca-Cola and Unilever building upon meetings first initiated at the Festival. We look forward to facilitating more new connections at the 2015 event.”

Previous emerge participant Jason Krebs, Chief Media Officer, Tremor Video added: “Meeting the most successful marketers in the world at the Festival of Media was an incredible experience. And having those same leaders name ‘VideoHub’ as ‘Hot Company of the Year’ was a spectacular recognition of our entire team that resonated through the media world.”
