Engagement agency INVOLVE is launching a new division dedicated to internal brand engagement. Ben Kingsmill, who has a 15-year history in strategic brand consultancy and consumer advertising, has been appointed to run the new division as Head of Brand Engagement.
As Ben comments: “Brands, most simply, are the means for businesses to tell their story, however, engagement in those brands is all too often assumed. It’s frustrating to see so many businesses missing out on the opportunities presented by their people to bring brands to life with customers.
“The importance of brand engagement is well understood by marketing, brand and customer directors – however investment remains low, in spite of findings in our recent research showing that internal brand engagement improves staff motivation 94% and customer experience by 91%.
“Through this newly created division we hope to put brand engagement at the heart of business leaders’ growth plans.”
Jeremy Starling, Managing Director, INVOLVE, said: “We are delighted to have Ben on board and his expertise will be instrumental in building INVOLVE’s strategy for making brand engagement a critical business issue. It needs to get as much attention and dedication from business and marketing leaders as other external brand initiatives do”.
Before INVOLVE, Ben held leadership roles at Goosebumps Brand Consultancy, thinkpublic, JWT, and McCann Erickson. “I have always believed in the positive impact creativity has on business”, explains Ben, “by focusing on brand engagement I am continuing this belief.
“The most powerful brand communication reflects the true ethos of a business, making a promise to its employees and customers. Driving engagement in that story should be an intrinsic part of the business strategy and my mission is to make people feel as excited about brand engagement as they were about digital strategies ten years ago”.
