AppLift Breaks $100 Million Run Rate in 2015

Geographic Expansion, Acquisitions, and Vertical Technology Focus Creates Unprecedented Growth Opportunity

BERLIN, GERMANY and SAN FRANCISCO, CA and SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA – AppLift, a leading mobile ad technology company, today announced that it broke the $100 million run-rate mark in the final quarters of 2015, driven by 170% year-over-year profitable growth across all of its key regions and app verticals. The Asia Pacific region, where AppLift opened three offices in 2015, experienced 190% growth, accounting for more than one third of total revenue.

Realizing the potential of RTB on mobile, in May 2015, AppLift acquired mobile DSP Bidstalk, ramped up its activities in programmatic buying and RTB trading, and accelerated the rollout of its RTB technology through its programmatic media buying platform, DataLift. This focus on programmatic further fueled growth and will remain the company’s main focus in 2016. After having doubled employee headcount to 220 in 2015, AppLift plans to continue to grow the team to 360 professionals by the end of the year.

Following AppLift’s acquisition of appiris in February 2015, a significant portion of the company’s growth came from verticals outside of gaming apps, such as m-commerce, travel, and dating, where revenue increased by more than 270% over the same time period. This growth is fueled by increasing business with long-standing clients, such as Flipkart, Paltalk, and King, as well as the acquisition of more than 100 new customers over the last year. Overall, the company’s customer retention rate was above 90%, a result of AppLift’s ongoing technological focus on user quality through fraud prevention and lifetime value optimization.

“We are thrilled to see such rapid success in our strategy of vertical and global expansion, as well as from our focus on the roll-out of our proprietary technology platform DataLift,” said Tim Koschella, CEO and Co-Founder of AppLift. “We anticipated the increasing growth potential of non-gaming apps. In 2016, we plan to pursue the same level of growth and focus on the development of our tech platform and our programmatic offering.”

The company also announced plans for further geographical expansion as they open an additional office in New York City during the first half of 2016.
