Mobile Advertising Leader Kargo Expands Globally with European Headquarters

Industry Veteran Owen Hanks to Head London Office & Lead Worldwide Expansion

NEW YORK – Kargo, the leader in mobile brand advertising, announces its global expansion into Europe and its first international outpost in London. At launch, Kargo is working with Unilever, MailOnline and Hearst UK, among others. Kargo’s international presence will be managed by digital veteran Owen Hanks, who was recently named Kargo’s first General Manager, International to lead the company’s worldwide expansion.

“Kargo works with the majority of premium publishers and brands in North America, many of whom have encouraged us to expand internationally”

Kargo’s extension into the international marketplace follows a year of momentum in 2015 in which Kargo was named one of the fastest growing companies in the US by Inc. magazine. The opening in London is Kargo’s first global presence outside the US.

Kargo is the only mobile advertising technology company that helps top advertiser brands and media companies create high end advertising experiences on mobile, particularly as consumers spend less time watching TV. By marrying breakthrough creative and data with the highest quality editorial environments, Kargo ensures that brands and publishers have a top tier partner to engage consumers on the mobile screen.

“Kargo works with the majority of premium publishers and brands in North America, many of whom have encouraged us to expand internationally,” said Harry Kargman, Founder & CEO of Kargo. “We need to raise the bar everywhere in mobile advertising by defining great consumer experiences and high impact campaigns. We’re very excited to be able to bring our innovation and unique capabilities to the rest of the world. Now is the perfect time to expand our global footprint given the extraordinary support of our current partners.”

Kargo’s invitation-only media alliance, which includes over 300 publishers, is poised to grow as publishers extend their offerings with Kargo to international markets. According to Hannah Buitekant, General Manager, Programmatic at MailOnline UK, “Kargo is a rare partner for publishers looking to embrace high quality mobile experiences, and we’re excited that they are now in the UK.”

Kargo’s new General Manager, International is Owen Hanks, an advertising industry veteran who will lead the London office and continue to expand Kargo’s global footprint. Hanks will be responsible for spearheading business development and establishing strategic relationships with international brands and media companies.

Hanks said, “Top clients have relied on Kargo to help them scale their brand marketing to the mobile phone, and now more than ever I believe Kargo’s unique commitment to quality and transparency will build loyalty worldwide. It is important to think globally and act locally, and I’m honored to play a role in what is sure to be a successful period of growth and innovation.”

Hanks brings more than 20 years of experience in the media, advertising and technology industries to his new role. Prior to joining Kargo, he served as General Manager, Europe at YuMe. He will report to Kargo’s Chief Strategy Officer, Doug Rohrer.
