Xaxis Names Bob Hammond as Chief Technology Officer

NEW YORK – Xaxis, the world’s largest programmatic media and audience platform, announced it has named prominent ad tech executive Bob Hammond as chief technology officer. Hammond will lead the engineering and technical operations teams, overseeing management and ongoing optimization of the company’s worldwide technology and data infrastructure. This will include supporting the development of new media and data products as well as coordinating technology strategy between Xaxis and its specialist companies Light Reaction, plista and ActionX.

“I look forward to working with our amazing engineers, data scientists and technologists as we continue to grow and enhance our technology capabilities.”

Prior to joining Xaxis, Hammond was chief technology officer at mobile ad company Millennial Media (AOL) where he led the development, research, architecture and technical operations teams. He joined Millennial Media from mobile start-up JumpTap when it was acquired by Millennial. At JumpTap, Hammond served as chief technology officer, playing a central role in launching the industry’s first programmatic marketplace for mobile ads. Earlier, Hammond was vice president of engineering at Yahoo! where he ran platform engineering for the company’s Video Platform and Syndication Group, helping to grow Yahoo’s offering into one of the world’s largest video marketplaces.

“Bob is one of the industry’s most accomplished hands in running massive, transactional data systems as well as managing the complex technology infrastructure at the heart of the digital advertising ecosystem,” said Nicolle Pangis, global COO of Xaxis. “Building proprietary technologies that connect advertisers with consumers in meaningful ways has always been a core principle at Xaxis, and we are thrilled to have an executive as experienced as Bob join our team.
