Appoints Rouzbeh Gerami and Shawn Simpson as Senior Data Scientists
NEW YORK – Tapad, the leader in cross-device marketing technology, has appointed data science veterans Rouzbeh Gerami and Shawn Simpson as senior data scientists.
In their newly created positions, Simpson and Gerami will use predictive modeling, data mining and graph algorithms to increase Tapad’s platform capabilities, driving customer value while also further developing the Tapad Device Graph™. They will work closely with the product, analytics and engineering teams.
Both Simpson and Gerami join Tapad with extensive data science and engineering experience. Most recently, Simpson served as head of data science for the Data Science & Engineering team at Dow Jones, where she worked for the past two years. She managed the development of data science products, advised data scientists on analysis approaches and acted as a leading internal data science consultant. Additionally, Simpson was responsible for designing statistically robust experiments and building predictive models.
Gerami most recently served as senior data scientist at YuMe, Inc, where he was responsible for design and implementation of various data science projects for DSP and SSP products, among them forecasting viewer interactions with ads, fraud detection, supply forecasting, and SSP floor price optimization. Prior to YuMe, Gerami held research positions at Highbridge Capital Management, as well as Morgan Stanley.

Simpson previously served as an assistant professor of Statistics at Columbia University, where she also received her Ph.D. in Statistics in 2011. Gerami holds a doctorate in Physics from University of California, Los Angeles.
