Key new hires across the U.S., EMEA and APAC to support company’s continued global expansion and growth

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – PubMatic, the automation solutions company for an open digital media industry, announced significant expansion of its global marketing organization with key hires across the U.S., EMEA and APAC regions. The appointments, which include Philip Buxton as EMEA-based Vice President of International Marketing as well as three new director-level marketing experts in the U.S. and APAC, will support PubMatic’s ongoing global expansion, continued technology innovation and thought leadership efforts throughout 2017 and beyond.

“Under the leadership of our CMO, Jeffrey Hirsch, we have built a global marketing organization with deep expertise that is uniquely positioned to help us capitalize on the significant momentum we saw in 2016 and support our continued global expansion and publisher-focused technology innovation”

“Under the leadership of our CMO, Jeffrey Hirsch, we have built a global marketing organization with deep expertise that is uniquely positioned to help us capitalize on the significant momentum we saw in 2016 and support our continued global expansion and publisher-focused technology innovation,” said Kirk McDonald, President at PubMatic.

In his role as vice president of international marketing, Buxton is responsible for coordinating PubMatic’s global marketing activities, working closely with the company’s product marketing and marketing communications teams to ensure consistent branding across EMEA and APAC while tailoring marketing efforts to the unique needs of individual markets in these regions. Buxton brings nearly 20 years of experience in digital marketing to his new role; he was the first reporter to cover ‘new media’ at Marketing Week, later opting to leave journalism in favor of helping major publishers, agencies and advertisers make sense of the shift to digital as a digital media and marketing consultant. Prior to joining PubMatic, Buxton served as Chief Marketing Officer at The Drum, Europe’s largest media and marketing news and information platform. Buxton is based out of PubMatic’s office in London, UK.

Buxton is joined by three additional new hires: Nigel Kwan, Director of Marketing for APAC, Osbaldo Franco, Director of Marketing Research, and Imelda Suriato, Creative Services Director.

“We’re thrilled to have an experienced leader like Philip join our global marketing organization to drive thought leadership and branding efforts across EMEA and APAC,” said PubMatic CMO Jeffrey Hirsch. “PubMatic’s global presence has continued to grow, particularly over the past year, and Nigel, Osbaldo and Imelda all bring years of global marketing experience that will be invaluable to us as we continue this momentum.”

Nigel Kwan, formerly vice president of marketing for APAC at Amobee and head of marketing for London-based mobile marketing and advertising company Weve, brings more than 15 years of digital media experience to his role at PubMatic. Based out of the company’s Singapore office, Kwan is responsible for developing and executing marketing programs, in conjunction with the EMEA and U.S. marketing teams, to tell the PubMatic story across APAC. He will work hand-in-hand with PubMatic Vice President of APAC Jason Barnes to ensure that PubMatic’s go-to-market efforts are tailored to the region and executed effectively.

Osbaldo Franco, formerly a senior research analyst at eMarketer focused on the Latin American market, brings deep expertise in developing and executing research projects and analysis to the marketing communications team at PubMatic. Based out of the company’s New York City office, Franco is responsible for working with the marketing communications and international marketing teams, as well as product marketing, engineering and sales, to drive research and analysis around the globe, including sales enablement efforts and thought leadership initiatives such as PubMatic’s Quarterly Mobile Index.

Imelda Suriato is an award-winning creative with a strong digital and technology background, having delivered innovative creative and strategy for global beauty, luxury and lifestyle brands including Lexus, Revlon and Verizon Wireless, and is responsible for co-creating the Webby Award-winning cancer network IHadCancer.com. In her new role, Suriato is responsible for managing and developing the overall creative execution for the PubMatic brand and identity, working closely with the entire global marketing organization to produce engaging representations of the PubMatic brand to further elevate the company’s presence across all global markets.

The expansion of PubMatic’s global marketing organization comes at a time of significant growth for the company, which announced record financial results and ongoing profitability in late 2016 and most recently released the latest addition to its suite of header bidding products, in-app mobile header bidding.
