Skimlinks Announces Winners and Nominees of Its Inaugural Commerce Awards for Publishers (The CAPs), Recognizing Excellence in Commerce Content

The first of its kind awards program provides recognition to publishers and merchants driving measurable, meaningful, and positive business impact through best-in-class commerce content programs

NEW YORK & LONDON — Skimlinks, the leading commerce content monetization platform, is thrilled to announce the nominees and winners of the inaugural Commerce Awards for Publishers (#TheCAPs). In the award program’s first year, Skimlinks sought to shine a light on companies that include content-to-commerce journalism as a key part of their overall business and editorial strategies.

To honor the best in the industry, @skimlinks presents the nominees and winners of the inaugural Commerce Awards for Publishers (#TheCAPs).

“It is a great time to be a commerce content publisher. Commerce can drive up to 25% of a publisher’s revenue and punches above its weight as a revenue stream. As more and more publishers embrace commerce, hire commerce editors and launch dedicated commerce content brands, it felt like the right time to create an awards program that showcases the best the industry has to offer,” said Skimlinks CEO Sebastien Blanc.

The below list of inaugural nominees represent publisher teams of all different sizes and stages of maturity and content campaigns showcasing products from a multitude of verticals.

From developing transparent product review sites to targeted campaigns for specific product launches, these unsung heroes have helped the burgeoning commerce content industry grow into a lucrative reality that not only generates revenue for publishers but drives reader engagement. The excellence displayed by these teams in this new field of journalism sets the stage for continued innovation in commerce content for years to come.

“We wanted the program to recognise the publishers that have perfected the art of providing a service to users through commerce content and using it to drive a lucrative revenue stream too. The most successful publishers are making 2,000 times more commerce revenue per user than the least successful, but across our editorial content publishers, the constant is the quality of the editorial they create,” added Blanc. “It is fantastic to be able to recognize the hard work of commerce teams across publishers of all shapes and sizes through the awards. Of course, the true validation for journalists writing commerce content is continued and increasing engagement from their readers, but our ambition with the awards is to bring wider industry awareness of the value of commerce and commerce teams at publications.”

The CAPs were open for public entry and judged by a panel of independent judges including industry journalists and external commerce content experts. Additional categories were decided by public vote and Skimlinks’ internal data collection pipeline.
