Jem Pagán Joins Mzinga as Sr. Vice President of Engineering and Adam Rubin as Vice President, Software Development

Jem Pagán has assumed the role of Senior Vice President of Engineering and Adam Rubin is Mzinga’s new Vice President of Software Development.
Both Pagán and Rubin bring extensive experience in enterprise application development, cloud-based computing, mobile and social technologies, and their appointments to Mzinga’s management team further enhances the company’s commitment to technology excellence and its continued momentum in the social software industry.
As Senior Vice President of Engineering, Pagán will be responsible for overseeing Mzinga’s engineering, project management and system operations staff, as well as managing the company’s architectural framework, cloud-based systems, data architecture and analytics, and overall technology development and integrations. Pagán’s career spans more than 20 years in information technology management and development, Software-as-a-Service and communication systems—including leadership positions with the Governor of Pennsylvania’s Office for Information Technology, Maryland State Department of Public Safety, Corrections and Probation, Morgan State University’s School of Engineering, and TECCO, Inc. As Chief Architect of the Commonwealth of PA and Chief Network Officer for the Department of Public Safety in Maryland, he provided technology leadership that impacted the lives of more than 12 million citizens in the areas of cyber security and eGovernment. His participation on federal IT governance boards impacted both national and international initiatives in smartcard standards and identity management. Most recently, Pagán served as director of business development for Versatile Systems, Inc. where he designed and coordinated new technology development partnerships in the areas of RFID, smartcards, enterprise security, identity management, virtualization and cloud computing.

A seasoned technologist and entrepreneur with 15 years of experience architecting sophisticated web applications, Rubin blends in-depth technological expertise with progressive strategies and processes to deliver innovative products. Prior to Mzinga, Rubin served as chief technology officer of Brighter Planet, where he drove the technology strategy and execution of the company’s web application and social media engagement capabilities. Earlier in his career, he held strategic and executive positions at Public Interactive, Mullen Advertising, and JuniorNet — driving the architectural design and software development for interactive and social SaaS-based web applications.
