Jumptap Appoints Former Yahoo! Sales Leader Frank Weishaupt to COO

Mobile Industry Vet John Hadl to Join Company Board

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – On the heels of its $27.5 million financing round, Jumptap, the leader in targeted mobile advertising, today announced that Frank Weishaupt has joined the company as Chief Operating Officer.

Weishaupt brings more than 15 years of digital media experience and comes to Jumptap from Criteo, where he was SVP of Sales and Publisher Marketplace. Prior to Criteo, Weishaupt spent 10 years at Yahoo! across a number of key operating roles, including Vice President of Advertising Marketplaces. In this role, Weishaupt was in charge of the monetization strategy for North America’s Search, Display, and Platform businesses. Weishaupts’ organization included Right Media, The Yahoo! Ad Network, pricing and yield management for display advertising, sales development, training, and sales operations. Weishaupt was also the lead on several advertising technology acquisitions, including Yahoo!’s acquisition of Dapper.

Weishaupt also held two other senior management roles in the Yahoo! sales organization during his tenure, including Vice President of Media Sales. In this role, the national sales organization saw 10x revenue growth in three years. Prior to this, he was Director of Client Services where he managed all U.S. sales support functions as Yahoo!’s ad revenue went from $600M to more than $6B annually. Before joining Yahoo!, Weishaupt held management and executive positions at well-regarded Internet companies including AOL in the mid-1990s.

Jumptap will also name John Hadl, venture partner at US Venture Partners, to the company board. In addition to his role with US Venture Partners, John was the founder of BrandinHand, which was the first major mobile media agency in the U.S. whose clients included P&G, Coca-Cola, Amex, General Mills, and Lions Gate Studios. BrandinHand was acquired in 2011 by FRWDCo. John is also the Founder and Chairman of the Board at Swoop, Co-founder and Chairman of the Board at Total Beauty Media, Inc. John was an early advisor to AdMob (acquired by Google), Millennial Media (IPO) and Quattro Wireless (acquired by Apple).
