VMIX Expands Business Development Team to Accelerate Growth in Online Video Market

SAN DIEGO – VMIX (www.vmix.com), a leading provider of online video and media-management solutions announced it has added four new senior members to its Business Development team. The hiring is the result of the San Diego-based company’s growth over the past year and its plans for continued expansion in 2010.

“Among other commendations in the report, we were recognized as one of the strongest performers in our industry”

Dan Charleston, Senior Vice President of Business Development at VMIX, said the four new senior Business Development Managers will play an instrumental role in the company’s revenue growth plans for the coming year.

“The new members of our BD team are seasoned veterans, each with significant experience in online video, as well as in a variety of client verticals. They will help us expand in key areas, and they bring significant customer relationships that will help both in the US and abroad.”

Dan added, “With VMIX’s more than 500 client sites across the media, entertainment, non-profit, education and enterprise markets, I am thrilled to welcome Kate, Charlie, Scott and Alan on board to help us continue the momentum.”

Kate Dixon, based in New York, NY brings 20 years’ business-development, sales and management expertise, with direct experience selling video-platform and media-management solutions at Nine Systems and Origin Digital. Kate comes most recently from Origin Digital, where she was Senior Director of Business Development.

Charles White, based in Boston, MA brings nearly 20 years’ business-development experience, including almost four years as VP of Business Development and Alliances with PermissionTV (now VisibleGains).

Scott O’Donnell, also based in Boston, MA brings 12 years’ experience in sales and business development, and a sharp focus on selling enterprise web-content delivery, streaming media, video-on-demand and SaaS services. He comes to VMIX from Mirror Image Internet, a leading CDN, where he was Senior Director of Sales.

Alan De Leon, based at VMIX’s headquarters in San Diego, brings more than a decade of national digital media and brand partnership experience, developing entertainment brands while at NBC Universal and Warner Bros. Entertainment. Alan most recently held the position of Senior Vice President of Interactive at media-platform and content-syndication provider Gen2Media.

Plans for further expansion at VMIX were announced in October, 2009, when the company received $2 million in additional funding to accelerate growth and expand into new markets.

President and CEO of VMIX Mike Glickenhaus said VMIX is fast becoming one of a handful of online-video solution providers separating themselves from other providers in the market. The company was one of just six platforms included in a recent Forrester study on online-video platform providers in the US.

“Among other commendations in the report, we were recognized as one of the strongest performers in our industry,” said Mike. “Adding seasoned experts to our Sales team further solidifies VMIX’s standing and readies the company as a whole to take a large step towards meeting the emerging needs of our clients.”

VMIX is headquartered in San Diego, with offices in New York, Boston and Atlanta. The company plans to add a San Francisco/Bay Area office early in the new year.
