Scripps Networks Promotes Gigliotti to President of National Advertising Sales and Marketing

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Steve Gigliotti has been promoted to president of national advertising sales and marketing for Scripps Networks Interactive. He is responsible for the strategic direction for all national ad sales activities for Scripps’ six cable networks as well as the company’s 10 websites which lead the home, food, travel and music categories. Additionally, Gigliotti maintains oversight of the company’s branded entertainment and research groups.

“Changes in media and challenges to the economy have made the last couple of years among the toughest we’ve seen in some time in the ad marketplace,” Lansing continued. “But with Steve’s leadership, we were able to continue to deliver distinct and creative opportunities across multiple platforms to deliver value for our advertising partners and for Scripps Networks Interactive.”

Scripps Networks Interactive is one of the few media groups that has consistently generated double digit growth in ad revenues. Scripps’ ad sales and marketing teams also rank at the top of the industry’s Beta Research Ad Executive Study for overall service, multi-platform ad opportunities and upfront presentations.

Gigliotti’s previous title was Executive Vice President, National Ad Sales. Prior to joining Scripps, he was vice president and general manager of ABC affiliate WMAR-TV in Baltimore, Md.

A savvy media veteran, Gigliotti started his career in Philadelphia where he worked in local radio sales. Later, he joined CBS radio before moving on to local CBS television sales, and eventually national television sales in New York. Additionally, he managed television sales operations in both New York and Los Angeles. Gigliotti spent 21 years with CBS and left the network as the vice president and general manager of KCBS-TV in Los Angeles. He then moved to Sacramento where he held the position of VP/General Manager of KOVR-TV until moving to WMAR-TV in Baltimore.

Throughout his career, Gigliotti has participated in many community-oriented efforts in several cities, including serving as a board member for the Urban League, for Towson University and other organizations that serve children. He’s served as co-chair of the American Heart Association and on the board of the East Tennessee Discovery Center.

Gigliotti received his education from Villanova University and the University of Pennsylvania. He resides in Knoxville with his wife and two sons.
