David Kahan to Stay with Company as SVP, Legal Affairs
BOSTON –Â Jumptap, Inc., the leader in targeted mobile advertising, announced the appointment of Neal Winneg as General Counsel. Mr. Winneg joins Jumptap from the Princeton Review, Inc. where he served as Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary, and was responsible for the overall planning, management and execution of Princeton Review Inc.’s legal function.
Mr. Winneg brings more than 17 years of experience as General Counsel of fast-growing, complex companies, including The Learning Company, Inc. and Upromise, Inc. He has led numerous acquisitions, handled the reporting and compliance obligations of public companies, participated in successful exits, and been a core member of teams that have led companies through rapid growth. His deep experience makes him one of the leaders of the growth-company Bar. Mr. Winneg began his legal career at the law firm of Skadden, Arps.
“Neal is both a proven leader and a skilled general counsel,” said George Bell, CEO, Jumptap. “His experience guiding companies through times of fast growth is an excellent match for where we are today. He and I worked together at Upromise, and I know I can rely on his insight and judgment. We’re delighted to have him join the team.”
“There are only a handful of companies in the country growing as quickly as Jumptap,” said Neal Winneg, General Counsel, Jumptap. “I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to help take this company to the next stage.”
David Kahan, Mr. Winneg’s predecessor as Jumptap’s General Counsel for the past six years, recently notified the company of his decision to move with his family to Israel. Mr. Kahan will take the newly created full-time role of Senior Vice President, Legal Affairs, reporting to Winneg, and will continue to focus on areas where he has made great strides, such as privacy and the company’s strong patent portfolio.
“It’s a real win-win situation,” said David Kahan, Senior Vice President, Legal Affairs, Jumptap. “I have the opportunity to work with and learn from a fantastic lawyer, stay with this great company, and facilitate my family’s long-held goal of living in Israel.”
“David has done an outstanding job for us as General Counsel, and if he were willing to stay in Boston full-time, we’d have been happy to have him continue in that role,” said Bell. “With his family’s decision to live in Israel, we took the opportunity to double down, bringing in Neal and also retaining David. There are only a handful of lawyers who are as business savvy, forward leaning and dedicated as either Neal or David, and we are fortunate to have both of them.”
