Mobile and Digital Content and Advertising Veteran Executive Assumes Immediate Responsibility for StartMeApp Sales and Business Development Initiatives Worldwide

A former Mobile Marketing Director with global advertising agency Universal McCann, Valerie Itey\’s experience in the mobile and Internet industries over the past 15 years includes global and European regional director-level positions with a number of leading companies providing mobile content, advertising and mobile payment solutions worldwide. Based in Barcelona and working through StartMeApp’s London corporate offices, Ms. Itey assumes immediate responsibility for oversight and management of StartMeApp’s ongoing expansion of sales and business development initiatives through its team of regional and country representatives worldwide.

Prior to joining StartMeApp, Valerie Itey served as Managing Director and owner of MobMendIT, providing consulting and marketing services to a variety of mobile and consumer industry companies in Europe and worldwide. Previously, she was Director of Marketing and Business Development for EMEA & Russia during 2011-12, with Princeton-based provider of cloud-based consumer content apps and services, Spap One, Inc., spearheading customer acquisition and carrier relations efforts focused on flagship products Snap Secure® and Snap MyLife®.

As Mobile Marketing Director with Universal McCAnn from 2008-2011, Ms. Itey served as Head of Mobile Media for all brand accounts for Universal and Mccann Erickson, including Coca Cola, Microsoft, Jack Daniel’s, BBVA, MasterCard, Mapfre, Once and Yell, among others. Other companies with which Ms. Itey has held global and EMEA regional director-level positions include: Index Corporation, the Japanese mobile content provider for network operators worldwide; Zed, the leading independent global mobile content distributor; Netsize, a Gemalto company, the worldwide leader for mobile operator micro-payment and messaging solutions; French Internet service provider Wanadoo, subsequently incorporated as the ISP of mobile operator Orange; and, Tiscali / WorldOnline, the former pan-European ISP, with an estimated 1.9 million customers and a presence in 15 countries and South Africa.

Ms. Itey has lived and worked in all regions of the world throughout her career and is widely known in the mobile and digital content industries as a dynamic and effective leader in the development of international business deals and relations. She holds a Master’s degree from France’s INSEEC and a BSc degree in International Trade, which included coursework in International Business Relations at Fordham University in New York City.

Ms. Itey assumes responsibility for the sales and business development efforts of StartMeApp’s rapidly expanding worldwide sales and business development initiatives. She will lead her team in the process of managing the rapid increase of StartMeApp clients, as the company continues to grow globally.

In 2012, StartMeApp exanded operations to include eight regional and country representatives, covering Latin America — Brasil, Colombia, Mexico, South America’s Southern Cone and the rest of Spanish-speaking Latin America – as well as Asia, Africa and Europe, including the move of the company’s corporate headquarters to new London offices. During Q3-2013, the company expects to have announced additional significant expansion of its operations in Asia and the opening of a new sales office in the United States.
