DALLAS – ad:tech New York 2014, the longest running digital marketing event in the industry, has announced a keynote session titled, “Caption This: Storytelling Visually” featuring Don Faul, Head of Operations at Pinterest and Richard Turley, Senior Vice President of Visual Storytelling and Deputy Editorial Director for MTV. Both will cover how brands can use, enable and curate images and video to tell a story that drives behaviors such as social engagement to ultimately increase both sales and brand awareness.

“A single image can generate millions of actions and sometimes even millions of dollars for a brand”

“A single image can generate millions of actions and sometimes even millions of dollars for a brand,” said Kimberly Dunn, marketing director for ad:tech. “Ellen DeGeneres famously took a selfie with 11 A-list celebrities at the Oscars last year; it ended up being the most retweeted image of all time and was a huge win for the Oscars in terms of positive branding. Faul and Turley will show attendees how they can create their version of that landmark visual storytelling moment.”

Don Faul, Head of Operations at Pinterest, and Richard Turley, Senior Vice President of Visual Storytelling & Deputy Editorial Director for MTV, will speak on November 6 at 12 p.m. EST. Faul, whose vision drives an engaging and valuable environment for both brands and consumers on Pinterest— the ultimate visual storytelling tool—also draws from his past experiences at tech giants Facebook and Google on how to visually engage users. Turley, who leads MTV’s visual storytelling direction with its 188M+ social fans, is also responsible for the award-winning redesign of Bloomberg BusinessWeek, heralded by advertising icon George Lois as the “best consistent covers in 40 years.”

The two-day event will take place from November 5-6, 2014 in New York City and will feature speakers from top influencers in the industry, in addition to a final closing keynote speaker. The remaining keynote speakers will be announced in the weeks ahead.
