Sizmek Announces Intent to Acquire StrikeAd to Bolster Mobile and Programmatic Offering

Acquisition of Leading Mobile DSP Enhances End-to-End Capabilities

Austin, TX – Sizmek Inc. (Nasdaq: SZMK), a leading open ad management platform company for multiscreen campaigns, announced today the acquisition of StrikeAd, a dedicated Mobile advertising Demand Side Platform (DSP). The company will provide detail on the financial impact of the transaction on its 2015 financial results during its first quarter earnings call scheduled for 5:00pm EST today.

The StrikeAd DSP enables advertisers, agencies, and publishers to plan, optimize, deliver and measure the most effective Mobile advertising campaigns on a global scale. The StrikeAd platform will be integrated into the Sizmek MDX platform, enabling advertisers to take full advantage of Sizmek’s mobile and programmatic capabilities.  By connecting mobile programmatic buying directly with rich media & video authoring, dynamic creative, in app data as well as viewability, verification, and attribution capabilities, marketers can now maximize the ROI of programmatic.  StrikeAd will also join other leading DSPs as part of the Sizmek DSP Connect initiative to provide visibility and efficiency to agencies and brands using MDX.

“Mobile, a multi-device experience by its very nature, isn’t just another channel – it requires a radically different way of interacting with customers,” said Neil Nguyen, CEO and President of Sizmek.  “The addition of StrikeAd to Sizmek’s comprehensive mobile offering for marketers and agencies increases our addressable market and provides Sizmek with programmatic and mobile-specific expertise so we can accelerate these key areas of strategic focus for the company.”

This acquisition supports Sizmek’s strategy of continuing to invest and expand the company’s mobile offering.  It also represents a critical step in Sizmek’s overall programmatic strategy, which aims to deliver creative and audience targeting and optimization at scale on any device.

“StrikeAd will continue to support its clients with market-leading solutions as it does today, but it will now benefit from the global scale in sales, support, and services that Sizmek provides,” said Alex Rahaman, CEO of StrikeAd.  “By integrating StrikeAd into Sizmek MDX through DSP Connect, our mutual customers will benefit from workflow and data flow efficiencies that exist within the ad management platform.  This is a win-win situation for Sizmek and StrikeAd customers.”

Sizmek anticipates the formal close date of the deal to be May 28, 2015.
