LOS ANGELES, CA – Ernst & Young LLP yesterday announced that Jeff Green and Dave Pickles, cofounders of The Trade Desk, Inc., a global demand-side platform in advertising’s $20B programmatic advertising industry, were named the Ernst & Young Entrepreneurs of The Year® 2015 in the Greater Los Angeles region. The award recognizes outstanding entrepreneurs who demonstrate excellence and extraordinary success in such areas as innovation, financial performance, and personal commitment to their businesses and communities. Their win was announced at a special gala Tuesday, June 16 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, Calif.
“We’ve had an incredible year, and I not only share this award with Dave, I share this with our whole team,” Green said. “We are changing the way advertising is transacted globally. We’re challenging marketers to use their data to make the ads experience better, and it’s working. Programmatic advertising has reached a tipping point, and we’re thrilled to have shaped the industry through vision and hard work. It’s an honor to be recognized.”
Pickles agrees, adding, “This award is for the team. I couldn’t be prouder of the tech we’ve built and scaled globally. We’re pushing code weekly and leading the programmatic industry into Advanced TV. We’ve preserved our incredible culture of innovation along the way, and this award is confirmation that we’ve got to keep going.”
Green and Pickles cofounded The Trade Desk in 2009, having previously worked together after Microsoft acquired Green’s first venture, digital ad exchange AdECN, in 2007. Since 2009, The Trade Desk has grown to serve clients globally from offices in the United States, Europe, and Asia.
