LOS ANGELES & NEW YORK – Rubicon Project (NYSE: RUBI), a global technology company leading the automation of advertising, announced that it would be joining a collaborative effort with select industry leaders including Google, Facebook and Yahoo to bring its years-long commitment to advertising quality to a global initiative designed to combat illegitimate advertising traffic originating from data centers.
“We are committed to working on collaborative technology with other industry leaders who share our belief that a clean, well lit and high-quality advertising marketplace is in the best interest of not only advertisers, but publishers and consumers as well.”
While Rubicon Project’s platform already blocks illegitimate traffic from data centers as part of its multi-faceted efforts to ensure traffic quality, this marks the first time the advertising industry’s biggest players who share a commitment to high-quality traffic will collectively share data center IP addresses hosting fraudulent or deceptive software bots. Coming together under the auspices of the Trustworthy Accountability Group (TAG), the collaboration will provide the entire industry with pooled insights and help reinforce a commitment to blocking illegitimate traffic.
“Rubicon Project is pleased to join other industry leaders and bring our longstanding commitment to engineering the highest quality advertising ecosystem to this collaborative effort that will help improve and advance the entire advertising marketplace,” said Gregory R. Raifman, President of Rubicon Project and a Founding Board Member of the Trustworthy Accountability Group (TAG). “This new initiative will enable more efficient and effective efforts to block illegitimate advertising traffic and bots, right from the source before they ever enter the eco-system, helping the entire industry to develop a cleaner, higher-quality marketplace for digital advertising.”
This partnership is the natural progression of Rubicon Project’s dedication to bring high quality inventory to the marketplace. Consistently ranked among the top global platforms for quality digital advertising in Pixalate’s Global Seller Trust Index, Rubicon Project was also one of the first members of the comScore Initiative, an independent effort designed to enable trusted transactions between buyers and sellers of quality advertising in both programmatic and direct buying environments.
“Ensuring world-class technology that addresses the needs and concerns of our industry has always been a principal focus for Rubicon Project,” said Dr. Neal Richter, Chief Technology Officer of Rubicon Project. “We are committed to working on collaborative technology with other industry leaders who share our belief that a clean, well lit and high-quality advertising marketplace is in the best interest of not only advertisers, but publishers and consumers as well.”
