Axel Dumont Named President of GroupM Québec

NEW YORK & MONTRÉAL – GroupM, the leading global media investment management operation of WPP, announced the appointment of Axel Dumont as President, GroupM Québec.

In his new role, Dumont is responsible for all of GroupM’s business activities in Québec, including the work of agencies Mindshare, MEC, MediaCom and Maxus; Xaxis, the world’s leading programmatic buying platform; and Catalyst, Canada’s number one search and social agency. He will ensure that all GroupM companies and their clients benefit from GroupM’s unrivaled scale and expertise in areas including trading, technology, programmatic, search and data analytics.

He will be based in Montréal and reports to Kelly Clark, the GroupM North America CEO. He will work closely with the Canada CEOs of the various GroupM companies.

Dumont is a twenty-year media veteran who has held GroupM leadership roles at MEC and MediaCom. Most recently, he was Managing Director, Global Client Leader for MEC Paris, working with clients including Michelin, Danone, Chanel, Remy Cointreau, and Blizzard. Prior to that role, he held a senior client leadership role with MEC in New York for more than four years.
