Local Media Consortium Partners With Lotame to Harness Members’ Premium Data and Enhance Programmatic Strategies

NEW YORK, NY – Lotame, the world’s leading independent cross-screen data management platform (DMP), announced its new partnership with the Local Media Consortium (LMC), a strategic collaboration of leading local media companies. Lotame will provide participating LMC publisher groups with robust capabilities to collect, organize, target, and syndicate audience data between participating members.

“The size, scope, and power of Lotame’s DMP will greatly benefit the member publications of the LMC,” said Kevin Kohn, Chief Revenue Officer of Lotame. “Not only will Lotame’s DMP put their data to better use, but we will also boost revenue through a variety of audience targeted ad products.”

The LMC includes access to more than 65 local media companies, including Digital First Media, The E.W. Scripps Company, Lee Enterprises, and The McClatchy Co., representing more than 1,650 individual publications, and an aggregate audience footprint of 470 million monthly unique visitors. Equipped with better audience data, the LMC publishers will be able to leverage potent lookalike modeling to execute campaigns and content strategies across any digital device.

In addition, LMC member companies will be able to directly leverage Lotame’s DMP for programmatic sales on behalf of the consortium through Lotame’s Syndicate product. Lotame Syndicate enables publishers to create their own private data marketplace with full control over which data assets are shared, for how long, the associated costs, and to which partners. This gives LMC publishers access to rich second-party data not available in the open marketplace.

“The Local Media Consortium continues to develop unique partnerships with leading solutions providers offering significant revenue generating opportunities to its more than 1,600 local market members,” said Christian A. Hendricks, Chair of the Local Media Consortium’s Executive Committee and Vice President of Products, Marketing and Innovation at The McClatchy Company. “Our partnership with Lotame signifies the important role service-led DMPs play in helping publishers leverage localized audience data at a national scale across all digital platforms and channels.”
