SAN FRANCISCO, CA – Symphony Advanced Media (SAM), the leading data technology and research firm that measures integrated cross-media consumption, announced today that it has hired Chuck Shuttles as Senior Vice President of Panel Operations. Shuttles, an expert in research methodology and passive data collection, will lead the growth and development of research panels for the company.

Shuttles brings more than 15 years of experience in research business development, client account management, research methodology and custom panel development to the Symphony AM team. Prior to joining, Shuttles held the title of Vice President of Custom Media Panels at GfK (formerly Knowledge Networks), where he led the cross-functional efforts to develop and enhance custom media panels and played a significant role in growing GfK’s unique panel-based business with Google. While at Nielsen from 2000 to 2010, he spearheaded the successful migration of Random Digit Dialing (RDD) to Address Based Sampling (ABS) and large-scale experimentation for continual sample performance improvement of local TV ratings studies.

Previously, Shuttles held a variety of leadership roles at Abt SRBI and worked at Nielsen. He received his B.A. in Sociology from New Mexico State University and his M.S. in Applied Sociology from Clemson University.
