Videology Announces Industry Education and Feedback Portal; Launches With Deep Dive on Ad Fraud

NEW YORK – Videology, a leading software provider for converged TV and video advertising, announced the launch of ‘Videology Labs,’ a two-pronged approach to industry education and client collaboration.

The series will be broken into two content areas:

•       Videology Knowledge Lab is an educational content program that sheds light on the key topics impacting advertisers and agencies in today’s converged video advertising world. The series will be geared towards a broader industry audience and focus on topics like viewability, cross-screen planning, the TV advertising technology ecosystem and application of data.

•       Videology Platform Lab will be a new way to deliver cutting-edge functionality to users of the Videology Platform, allowing strategic client partners to have early access to test and provide feedback on new features. In addition to hands-on platform testing, Videology’s product team will provide exclusive training videos on new features and capabilities.

Through straightforward overviews, Videology Knowledge Lab will provide definitions, data, and explanations of complicated subjects, to bring simplicity and clarity to an otherwise complicated industry.

“This industry’s constant news cycle of research, product releases, breaking innovations, and the inevitable competitive posturing, makes it increasingly difficult to distill the facts from the noise,” said Scott Ferber, Chairman and CEO, Videology. “We’re launching Videology Knowledge Lab in response to clients’ request for simplified, unbiased information on the major topics surrounding digital media and marketing to help them make more informed choices.”

Videology Platform Lab will bring key advanced users to the workbench of the product development process on beta versions of some of the most transformative features Videology is working on.

“Letting users test new platform developments and give specific feedback in real-time opens an honest and impactful dialogue,” said Kevin Haley, Chief Scientist & Chief Product Officer, Videology. “It ensures we’re focusing on what matters most—client needs. We’re not building technology to show off flashy features, we’re building technology to drive advertising results.”

In conjunction with this announcement, Videology has published its first Knowledge Lab: ‘Online Ad Fraud: A Byte-Sized Overview.’ The lab defines bot fraud and existing fraud practices, showcases industry statistics, and explains Videology’s fraud capabilities with a real-world case study. The lab also gives readers a clear set of fraud-related requirements to look for when evaluating advertising solutions.

“Fraud was the logical place for us to start in our knowledge series. Bot fraud lowers the credibility of our whole industry and overcoming this issue should be priority number one for everyone in the ecosystem,” added Ferber. “Our approach to fighting bots is ensuring they don’t receive our dollars in the first place. Reporting bot fraud after the fact simply isn’t enough. Almost two years ago, we orchestrated a direct integration with White Ops to detect bots at the impression-level before an ad is ever served. In our experience, advertisers want to know their ads are reaching humans from the start. Forecasted, guaranteed delivery that drives sales is what advertisers care about.”

Videology Knowledge Lab will publish new topics on a monthly basis. Videology Platform Lab will launch with strategic client partners in Q2.
