Flashtalking Launches Dynamic Video Contest to Showcase Programmatic Creative Tech Innovation

Winners eligible for trip to Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity

LONDON and NEW YORK – Flashtalking, the leading global independent ad server and full-service provider of dynamic creative solutions, today announced the debut of its first annual “Dynamic Video Contest,” open to creative teams industry wide, who are formally invited to submit their most imaginative concepts for advertising video that leverages data to create relevant, timely and personalised messages. The winner will be announced during Internet Week at “The Art & Science Sessions,” hosted by the company at The Knickerbocker in New York on May 18th. The call for entries opens today and will close on May 6, 2016.

More about the Contest and the Solution Behind It

The Flashtalking contest highlights the ever-evolving tool set available to creative teams, those innovating on the edge of creative technology. At the center of the contest is the company’s video development solution, a new feature in the Ad Builder creative tool. These advancements include a dynamic video overlay functionality and an encoder that processes bulk videos in a fraction of the time generally expected for video production. The submissions will be in the form of concepts or speculative creative—the winner will be invited to collaborate with Flashtalking to leverage the solution to produce their winning creative and launch into a live ad campaign.

How It Works – The Rules

The contest calls on top industry creatives to concept executions using Dynamic Video to create personalised video for advertising.  Entries will include:

  • A short 30-second animatic using rights-cleared personal or stock imagery, illustrations or video illustrating a concept
  • If you choose to use creative assets from an existing brand, you must clear the use of that brand in advance, because the work will be made public once the winner is chosen
  • If you do not choose to use creative assets from an existing brand, you may make a “generic” ad to be aligned with a specific product or category *An existing brand is not a requirement.
    • For example, you may create a concept campaign for “An Auto Brand,” or a “Brand of Breakfast Cereal”
  • A completed entry form with a 500 word description of your ad, outlining the strategy and how the personalisation occurs
  • And, yes, you can enter more than once!

What is Dynamic Video?

Dynamic video is video creative that is able to transform and customise itself to target relevant audience segments.
