NEWS: Kochava adds two mobile ad industry heavy hitters, Ross Sandler, VP Sales, East, & Jaime Ocampo, GM Singapore

In 2015 Kochava grew over 250% in revenue, and over 325% in transaction volume. Amidst this incredible growth and international expansion, Kochava is rapidly staffing up its sales and executive management teams, including new VP of Sales, East, Ross Sandler, and newly appointed General Manager of Singapore, Jaime Ocampo.

“Ad tech, as an industry, is exploding and Kochava is fueling the fire with innovations that anticipate advertisers’ future needs and desires for measurement and optimization, and exceed them,” said Charles Manning, Kochava CEO. “Ross Sandler and Jaime Ocampo are two serious movers and shakers who bring with them the insight, expertise, and experience that is critical for a company like Kochava at the forefront of a rapid growth industry. These guys have deep talent in mobile, social, and digital gaming that Kochava will be able to leverage to deliver the services and experiences that tomorrow’s advertisers will demand.”

Ross Sandler joins Kochava as Vice President of Sales, East. A seasoned and well known ad tech industry veteran, having spent the last 17 years in various sales leadership roles, Sandler comes to Kochava from Peer39, a division of Sizmek, where he spent five years leading agency sales, growing the business from pre-revenue to an annual run rate of over $20MM. No stranger to the world of data analytics and optimization, Sandler was a founding member of the DFA sales team at DoubleClick in the late 90s, MediaMath’s first Sales Director in 2010, was the first to market selling Rich Media at Eyeblaster, and was a noted early adopter of behavioral and audience targeting as one of the first sales executives at Revenue Science. An award-winning presenter and speaker on ad tech industry issues and trends, Sandler earned his bachelor’s degree in Marketing from The George Washington University, and currently resides in New York where he will dominate the Silicon Alley for Kochava.

“Kochava is thrilled to welcome Ross Sandler aboard during this exciting period of growth for the company,” said Kochava Executive Vice President, Sales, Garrett MacDonald. “His track record of driving success for ad tech companies over the last 17 years, covering data analytics and targeting, programmatic buying, rich media and ad serving, is unprecedented. Coupled with his solid personal brand and level of respect across the ad industry, Ross is poised to play a critical role in driving the growth and success of Kochava.”

Jaime Ocampo joins Kochava as General Manager, Singapore, to run operations for South East Asia, Australia and New Zealand. A self-proclaimed “math nerd” with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Ocampo brings deep leadership experience and solid tech acumen to the growing Kochava team based in Asia. Known industry-wide as a mobile/social/digital-gaming guru, Ocampo spent the last 15-years pushing the evolution of the mobile industry in Asia. Ocampo led sales during the early days of WAP, continued on to become Head of Sales and Marketing for EA Mobile in South East Asia during the peak of the J2ME gaming era, eventually moving on to head the APAC mobile division of Friendster, where he brought the social networking experience to the masses through the mobile browsers of low-end feature phones. After paving the way for what has become social during his tenure with Friendster, Ocampo most recently served DeNA covering Japan, South East Asia, and India for the past four years. Hired as one of the first employees of the DeNA Singapore office, Ocampo was the Director of Business Development and a key contributor to the international growth of the Japanese social gaming giant. Ocampo hails from the Philippines, and currently resides in Singapore, where he will orchestrate the growth of Kochava across Asia.

“Jaime Ocampo is the real deal, with solid tenure, pedigree, and results-oriented work experience— powered entirely by execution,” said MacDonald. “He’s done platform deals, content deals, technology localization; he’s built developer communities and SDK deployments; he’s led product, strategy, business development, account management and new business; really he’s done it all, and he’s been wildly successful at it.”

In addition to multiple offices in the US, Beijing, and Seoul, Kochava announced new offices in New York, London and Singapore. The company’s rapid global expansion is further extended via network and partner integrations. Kochava is now fully integrated with more than 2,000 partners globally.
