Ex-Microsoft and IDG Video Lead Joins Vibrant Media as VP Sales, East

LEAN native ads and branded content formats focus for East Coast

As the new Vice President of Sales for the East region, Greg Rivera, is bringing his branded content, multi-platform, programmatic and business strategy acumen to the original native advertising company, Vibrant Media.

Consumer and business-to-business brands rely on Rivera to display innovative ads across premium media titles and platforms. Until now he was Vice President of Video Ad Sales at IDG.tv, the global video offering of tech media giant International Data Group. He plans to draw on this experience when introducing brands to Vibrant Media’s viewability-focused portfolio of video ads, including its new user-initiated out-of-stream format, InView.

His video experience started at Microsoft, where he spent ten years and rose to Senior Director of Microsoft’s Interactive Content and Experiences team. Over that time he arranged branded interactive content experiences across numerous devices and services including Xbox, Windows, Skype, MSN, and Bing. Rivera’s multi-content and multi-device background will help Vibrant’s clients to take full advantage of Vibrant’s rich media, high impact formats and content marketing services.

Rivera is also an early adopter of programmatic advertising. In 2000, whilst with CentrPort – one of the first programmatic ad tech platforms – he began educating marketers in the financial services, telecommunications, automotive, and travel sectors about using a composited data platform to target consumers and make budget decisions. His long experience and innovation in this area will bolster Vibrant Media’s position as one of the world’s largest scale desktop and mobile programmatic native advertising providers.

Vibrant Media’s Founder and Executive Chairman, Craig Gooding said, “Display, video, mobile, TV, social, influencer, programmatic, tablet, gaming, virtual reality: Greg Rivera’s done it all. He has consistently been at the cutting edge of digital advertising. His drive for innovative and interactive content formats are important essential qualities to Vibrant Media’s sales team as we roll out our new LEAN technology and new native advertising formats.”

Greg Rivera, new VP Sales, East at Vibrant Media said, “Vibrant Media has just rebuilt its entire technology platform. This has not only made its core library code one of the lightest available on the market, but it also offers countless possibilities for new ad formats using various combinations of creative assets and innovative ways of interacting with consumers. Vibrant’s ability to reach audiences in a highly contextual manner and via authentic, native experiences presents an exciting new opportunity for brands. It’s an opportune time to leverage Vibrant’s innovative technologies to deliver full-funnel brand experiences that have not been possible before.”
