New Platform to Provide Marketers Integrated Solution to Develop Social Networking Sites
INDIANAPOLIS – On-demand email and one-to-one marketing solutions provider ExactTarget announced the launch of 3sixty, a social media platform that enables companies to build, host and maintain secure social networks.
Fully integrated with ExactTarget’s one-to-one messaging platform, 3sixty provides organizations a solution to create permission-based online social networks to give prospects, customers, employees, partners and others a forum to gather, exchange ideas, distribute learning materials and engage in discussion.
“Social networks have emerged as the channel of choice for online discussions and interaction,” said Scott Dorsey, ExactTarget chief executive officer and co-founder. “3sixty provides organizations an easy-to-use solution to create secure forums for a myriad of applications ranging from customer service to employee collaboration.”
The addition of 3sixty expands ExactTarget clients’ ability to build relationships with customers online through real-time interactions and dialogue. The new platform integrates with ExactTarget’s software, enabling organizations to send and track permission-based triggered emails, text messages, and voice messages to members of the social network based on their onsite interactions.
3sixty is modeled after ExactTarget’s self-developed secure customer-only social networking site. The social network has grown to more than 16,000 members since launching in October 2008 and gives customers a forum to submit and track customer support requests, interact with fellow marketers and recommend and vote upon product enhancements. More than 100 product enhancements and additions recommended by customers have already been incorporated into the company’s one-to-one marketing platform, including improved tracking tools, expanded email testing and simplified triggered email sending capability among others.
“3sixty has proven the value of secure social networks and was the impetus for us to develop and deliver a commercial version to enable our customers to achieve the same level of success with their communications efforts,” Dorsey said. “In fact, 3sixty is an idea first presented by a 3sixty user.”
3sixty is currently available for purchase to all ExactTarget customers.
The launch of 3sixty was made on the main stage of ExactTarget’s annual user conference Connections ’09, the world’s largest gathering of on-to-one marketers.
