American Marketing Association, Houston, Hosts October Events

HOUSTON – The Houston Chapter of AMA will host a number of events in October.

The monthly luncheon, scheduled October 14, will feature JC Fassino, Senior Vice President of Marketing at Gulf States Toyota, whose topic, “Utilizing Customer Engagement Strategies in Ultra-Competitive Markets” will provide insight on making customer engagement strategies a secret weapon for success. Fassino will also discuss how the automobile distributor capitalized on previous pitfalls to initiate the most important vehicle launch in the history of Gulf States Toyota. On October 23, AMA Houston’s Energy Marketing Special Interest Group (SIG) will feature Graham Makin, Director of Technical Marketing with Weatherford International and Stacy Roll, Global Product Line Marketing Manager of FMC. The topic, “Bridging the Gap: How to get Marketers and Engineers to talk in a common language,” will include discussions on identifying challenges in communication style between Marketing and Engineering, using internal communication strategies to meet these challenges and translating product and service attributes into messages for external audiences. AMA Houston’s Marketing Strategy SIG will host Mark Walker, Reliant Energy; Molly Voorhees, Beck’s Prime; and David Shepherd, Net IQ on October 30. Their topic, “How to be a more strategic marketer/planner through research” will include discussions on marketing research and its crucial place within marketing plans. Participants will walk away with knowledge on the relationship between strategic planning and research, how to utilize research in strategic planning and how research incorporated in marketing plans improves effectiveness.
