Undertone Increases Year-Over-Year Video Advertising Revenue by More Than 400 Percent

Exclusive Reach, Quality Inventory and Targeting Solutions among the Key Growth Drivers

NEW YORK – Undertone, which delivers quality display, high impact and video solutions for advertisers, announced a year-over-year increase in video advertising revenue of more than 400 percent*. Other key Undertone video metrics released include:

– A video advertiser base that has more than tripled year-over-year;
– A tenfold increase in video ad impressions year-over-year; and
– A comScore top 10 video property ranking**.

The year-over-year growth is attributed to expansion of Undertone’s core video network as well as increased scale delivered through the company’s Q4 2010 acquisition of Jambo Media, a video syndication and technology provider. The acquisition of Jambo Media gives Undertone ownership of a proprietary video player that creates exclusive advertising opportunities on websites that didn’t previously have video content.

“We’re excited by the industry’s adoption of Undertone’s video advertising solutions,” said Eric Franchi, Co-Founder, Undertone. “The objectives of both our video and high impact ad solution are to create new ways for advertisers to be seen and heard online. Continuing to innovate within these channels is a key focus for Undertone through the remainder of 2011.”

The 2011 product roadmap for Undertone video includes the launch of an enhanced video player, which will feature long-form content options, additional targeting options and advanced reporting capabilities to analyze interaction by audience segment. The company also continues to expand its publisher base to further increase the amount of exclusive inventory available for advertisers.

Video advertising is burgeoning as more companies seek to replicate the television experience online. eMarketer predicts that U.S. video ad spend will reach $5.5 billion in 2014, up from $1.5 billion in 2010. An Undertone survey of 2,000 ad industry professionals revealed that more than half of the respondents planned to increase their digital video advertising spend in 2011, with more than 20 percent looking to reallocate spend from their budgets for traditional advertising.
