Leader in social video taps industry veteran to lead expansion of publisher network
SAN FRANCISCO – Sharethrough, the leader in social video advertising, today announced that Hanz Kurdi has joined the company as its new senior director of publisher strategy and operations. Kurdi will be responsible for expanding the company’s publisher relationships and building out their industry leading network of “native” placements for brand video content.
Kurdi brings over a decade of experience in strategic business development roles at high-growth technology startups. Prior to Sharethrough, he was vice president of business development at Apture, a contextual search technology company acquired by Google. He also served as director of account strategy at Zong, a mobile payments provider acquired by PayPal, and spent four years as director of account management at Adify, an advertising technology company acquired by Cox Communications. He was previously director of business development at Tynax, an online patent exchange.
“Sharethrough has established itself as the leader in social video advertising and has strongly evangelized for the move away from interruptive ads to entertaining content. We have partnered with publishers to create new ‘native’ experiences that support this shift away from ads to content and validated a significant new revenue opportunity for publishers,” said Dan Greenberg, co-founder and CEO of Sharethrough. “We’re pleased to bring Hanz onto the team to help lead our partnership efforts and cement our position as the only distribution platform to exclusively offer native video advertising experiences.”
An entrepreneur in his own right, Kurdi co-founded two companies, UOME, a mobile messaging company, and Tightbyte.com, a leader in B2B e-commerce technology. He has also served as a strategic advisor to private technology companies such as Nverse Media and Realradius, providing hands-on guidance in business and customer development.
“Sharethrough’s leadership and market opportunity has positioned us as the market leader in native advertising delivery. Our overall strategy is to continue to infuse publishers with top-quality brand content videos through our unique and highly customizable solutions,” says Kurdi. “Publishers understand their need to protect and promote their content while providing a seamless and native user experience. Sharethrough is the only company that can deliver this with the highest quality. I am extremely excited to join the Sharethrough family and help continue to revolutionize the world of content delivery.”
