IDG Amplify Social Media Marketing Grows into a Family of Products and Services

Nine Offerings Give Technology Marketers Impactful Social Web Activation Programs

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. – IDG Communications, which established a leadership position in social media marketing more than four years ago with the tech media market’s first social advertising services, has significantly expanded its social products and services. IDG Amplify offerings now include a portfolio of social marketing services, products, and integrated programs all tailored to provide the insights, campaign optimization, and ongoing impact to help IT marketers improve their company’s social Web presence and voice.

Most of these programs and services come with social metrics to ensure that customers’ objectives are met and the campaigns deliver maximum value. IDG Amplify marketing services are available in more than a dozen countries spanning online, the social Web, and mobile platforms.

IDG Amplify options include nine social marketing products and services designed to support and extend a client’s social media initiatives:

  • Social Intelligence to monitor, analyze and optimize social Web activity.
  • Social Advertising campaign services to bring social engagement into established online environments.
  • Community Threading and Influencer Outreach to target high-value prospects with sustained presence and developed with a marketer’s key messaging.
  • Social Content Services to provide a steady stream of content optimized to expand and deepen specific discussion topics.

The nine services and products can be purchased individually or in packaged offerings to fit a marketer’s objectives or budget.

“IDG Amplify is a comprehensive portfolio of services that extend the voice of our clients into the traditional, social, and mobile Web,” explained Matthew Yorke, president, IDG Global Solutions. “What we’ve learned since 2008 is that social marketing works best as part of an overall program that includes owned, earned, and paid media.”

Comprehensive, Integrated Social Marketing Programs

IDG Amplify includes six integrated social media marketing solutions including the flagship program, Community Works. Community Works is IDG’s most comprehensive end-to-end social marketing program that integrates the full suite of IDG Amplify services into a holistic paid, earned, and owned social strategy and implementation. This program integrates a client’s messaging and branded content (owned) with community generated discussions (earned) and supplements these with targeted advertising (paid). The Community Works program itself is centered within key social networks and a dedicated community destination (on both online and mobile platforms) designed to drive defined metrics aligned to share of conversation, community memberships, and earned engagements along with other key social media measurements. Other IDG Amplify programs include Ignite, designed to help amplify a customer’s social voice and presence within time-compressed initiatives such as events or product announcements. Ignite draws greater social visibility prior to, greater social reach during, and extends social engagements post-event or announcement. With events the value is boosting registrations and using and promoting content beyond the physical event to obtain maximum value for the investments in event content.

Social Video Demand Generation

IDG Amplify Knowledge Vault Exchange (KVE) adds social activation to the existing Knowledge Vault video presentation and demand generation program. KVE, initially introduced by IDG Enterprise media brands, provides clients with a persistent, high-volume online and mobile demand generation platform that features multiple client topics or key messages delivered as short videos. The new element extends the content into social engagements beyond simple sharing and comments. Live social chats with an integrated social network presence and engagements support the marketer’s key messages.

Social Marketing Services Team

For each client program, a dedicated team is assigned to help design, implement, and optimize the elements of the campaign so client objectives are met. The team is a full-service social media group with expertise across social networks, blogger relations, community threading, and reporting and analysis.

“We’ve been successful by adding social expertise over the past four years. We started with social advertising and have added several services that can now be combined into a comprehensive set of social marketing programs,” said Charles Lee, senior vice president, IDG Strategic Marketing Services and Custom Solutions. “Over the past year, we’ve concentrated on expanding our competencies to cover demand generation and mobile marketing. Social is one important element in a marketing plan, but we strongly believe it is just a part of an effective and efficient branding and lead gen effort.”
