New Positions More Tightly Integrate FMP’s Conversational Marketing and Programmatic Product Lines

SAN FRANCISCO – Federated Media Publishing, the conversational marketing pioneer and champion of content that fuels the social web, announced that it has appointed Matt Arkin as Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) and Walter Knapp as Chief Operating Officer (COO).

“Moving forward, we will continue to bring new products and services to market that help high-quality, independent publishers grow their audience and better monetize their sites.”

In his new role as CRO at Federated Media, Mr. Arkin will drive corporate revenue strategy and oversee the company’s demand and direct sales teams, as well as its sales marketing teams. Mr. Arkin joins Federated Media as a 20-year veteran of the digital media space. Most recently, Mr. Arkin was President and CRO of 33Across, where he led the sales and operations departments, growing the company’s client roster to include 300 of the top Fortune 500 companies. Prior to that, Mr. Arkin held senior sales roles at companies including AOL, TACODA, and CBS MarketWatch, among others.

Walter Knapp was recently promoted to COO of Federated Media after serving as the company’s EVP and GM, Media Platform, for the past year and a half. In this position, Mr. Knapp will be responsible for operations, engineering, product, and publisher services at FMP. Prior, Mr. Knapp was COO of Lijit Networks, where he built one of the industry’s largest ad exchanges before being acquired by Federated Media in October 2011. The Federated Media Exchange now includes over 150,000 sites representing almost 200 million U.S. monthly uniques, according to comScore.
