Native Advertising Pioneer MGID Sees Over 20% Growth in 2014

Global Digital Advertising Company Closes the Year With Milestones in Revenue, Audience Size and Product Features

SANTA MONICA, Calif. – Following a dramatic year for native advertising, Los Angeles-based native advertising giant MGID, saw a 21.7% increase in revenue in the fourth quarter of 2014, when compared to 2013. The company experienced dramatic growth following its move from New York to Los Angeles earlier in the year as it maneuvered to serve its large entertainment and lifestyle customer-base. Revenues came from 360,000 ads serving over 435 billion impressions worldwide.

MGID’s traffic numbers compiled from comScore revealed there were over 3 billion visitors to its platform in 2014, averaging at almost 9 million visitors per day. Traffic came from North America and Europe (each at 29%), Asia/Pacific (26%), Latin America (9%) and the Middle East/Africa (6%). The vast majority of traffic came from desktops (72%), smartphones (15%) and tablets (12%). comScore also found the median income for visitors to MGID was $71,697 and age 36.

In addition to increased revenue, MGID joined IAB and launched several features in 2014 including Selective Bidding, which enabled customers to set individual bids for each publisher, improved retargeting mechanisms, a new and more efficient approach to mobile traffic distribution and the integration of the MGID dashboard with Google Analytics.
