Xaxis Appoints Jason Webby as SVP, Client Engagement

NEW YORK – Xaxis, the world’s largest programmatic media and audience platform, announced today it has named media industry veteran Jason Webby as senior vice president, client engagement. Webby will be responsible for leading the programmatic sales and account management team in the US market. He succeeds Matt Sweeney in the role who was recently promoted to CEO, North America.

Webby brings a wealth of experience at the world’s largest media companies to the role. He joins Xaxis from NBCUniversal where he was SVP, sales at CNBC International with responsibility for overseeing all commercial activity, spanning broadcast, digital and mobile advertising, custom and native content creation, research and event sales across EMEA, Asia Pacific and Latin America.

Prior to CNBC, Webby was the SVP, global head of sales for The Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU), a division of The Economist Group. In this role, he had commercial responsibility for the global sales efforts and client partnership development initiatives across the EIU’s extensive platform of subscription data services and custom research practices. He also sat on the executive management committee for the EIU reporting to the CFO for The Economist Group and managing director for the EIU. Earlier, Webby was the SVP of advertising for The Economist where he oversaw all commercial activity across print and digital advertising, conferences, thought leadership publishing and content syndication in the Americas.

Earlier in his career, Webby served as national associate publisher at Ziff-Davis Media’s flagship publication, PC Magazine. He holds a bachelor’s degree in English from Boston College in Chestnut Hill, MA.
