International trade body’s UK chapter bolsters senior leadership team to drive awareness and growth during its 80th year
London: The International Advertising Association (IAA) UK Chapter announced the election of Inskin Media’s Chief Marketing Officer, Fran Cowan to the new role of VP Marketing.
Cowan was unanimously voted in by the IAA UK board, and will work with the international trade body’s multiple committees to build the IAA brand in the UK, and drive engagement with its extensive events programme, networking opportunities, and professional development resources.
The Association also announced a partnership with communications consultancy, GingerMay PR, to help target a broader audience, amplify its thought-leadership content, and increase awareness as it celebrates its 80th anniversary this year. Founded in 1938, the IAA is the world’s only internationally-focused advertising trade association, working effectively across the globe to promote the role and power of advertising to brands, agencies, and media owners.
Commenting on her appointment, Cowan said: “This is a really exciting year for the IAA. The global network available through IAA membership is second to none, and the programme of events is excellent. I’m looking forward to working alongside its dedicated committees to position IAA UK as an indispensable pillar for anyone working in the international media industry.”
Fredrik Borestrom, the President of the IAA UK Chapter, and Agency Development Partner at LinkedIn, added: “Fran is an excellent addition to the IAA’s leadership team. We’re extremely lucky to have a marketer of her calibre in this role and have no doubt that she will make a valuable contribution to the UK Chapter’s growing reputation.”
Cowan will continue to work in her role at Inskin, where she leads the company’s global marketing and communications activities, and to serve on the IAA UK’s Professional Development committee.
