Wall Street’s Loss is adMarketplace’s Gain

Bullish on Fast-Growing Ad Tech Firm adMarketplace, Phat Loc Leaves Credit Suisse

NEW YORK – Former Credit Suisse trader Phat Loc has joined adMarketplace as Vice President of Advertising Matching and Pricing, a move that reflects a larger shift away from the embattled finance industry and towards high growth technology businesses.

In five years as the Credit Suisse Longevity Markets Desk Trader, Loc took the division from a fledgling startup venture into a multi-billion dollar business. He built the Longevity Markets software and pricing logic infrastructure, which managed risk and priced various contracts, including structured notes, derivatives, annuities, pension swaps, life insurance policies, and regulatory reserves.

“The most important reason I joined adMarketplace is the culture and management. I was very impressed with how driven, focused and motivated they are in building up the business. They have a proven business model and technology, my focus now is to scale it up,” he said.

“Search syndication is a $15 billion business. The company that can target and price advertisements effectively will win significant market share,” said adMarketplace CEO Jamie Hill. “I expect Loc’s experience will substantially increase the performance we deliver to both advertisers and publishers.”

For adMarketplace, Loc will again leverage large data sets to analyze and bid in high-volume markets, this time to match and price thousands of advertisers against millions of ad placements each day. adMarketplace’s technology platform powers its search syndication network, and Loc will be responsible for scaling the platform’s ability to find value on publisher traffic outside of the major search engines for pay-per-click marketers.

“As we grow, our platform is generating more performance, pricing and targeting—but there are not many people who know how to apply data to price inventory in real time on a massive scale,” COO Adam Epstein said. “Fortunately, we found a world-class talent a few blocks away, and Phat was excited about the opportunity to work on large-scale challenges.”

Loc received his BA in Actuarial Science and MA in Financial Engineering from Baruch College.
