Protein Launches Tide, a New Social Media Visualisation Tool Pioneered at Cannes Lions

Stella Artois, Converse and Grafik are amongst the first clients.

Protein today launches Tide – a new social visualisation tool built for brands who want to monitor and amplify campaigns as well as event organisers who want to bring to life live social conversations.

Tide is the first social media visualization and analytics tool that combines high spec design with useful analytics, an easy set up and low cost. Tide can be used in three different ways: for an event, as an internal tracking tool, and as a public showcase for social conversations around a brand.

Available free to students and charities, and starting from £49.00 ($75.00) for a one-off event, Tide was first trialed at the Cannes Lions Festival this year, the tool pulled in tweets and Instagram posts from thousands of attendees, highlighting popular topics, analyzing social media traffic at different points throughout the festival and showcasing the most relevant images.

Using Tide at this years Cannes Lions was a real eye opener. We always had so much data to be mined coming out of the festival from whos winning and what kind of people are attending – that could provide real insight into the state of industry. Tide is now used at Protein’s Studio space in Shoreditch, London, with regular hosts Grafik (www.grafik.net) using Tide to project live conversations on the big screen. Visualised (www.visualized.com) and EyeEM (www.eyeem.com) festivals will also incorporate Tide into their events in New York later this year.

Stella Artois is the first brand to embed the tool into their own site, to show what people are saying around their new campaign and Converse are currently using Tide as an internal tracking tool to monitor and analyse conversations around their brand across the world.
